4AHWII 2023/24
In the week of April 3rd to April 10th the 4AHWII had the magnificent opportunity to spend their language week in the wonderful city Brighton, England.
Despite the stereotypical English weather, the students and the teachers enjoyed their time on the southern countryside of the British Island. During the week they attended an Oxford Language School in the centre of the city. Afterwards they explored the city and visited some main sightseeing attractions like the Royal Pavilion and Brighton Palace Pier. In the evening everyone enjoyed the atmosphere while walking on the lovely beach or participating in some activities like playing football or pool, and of course, bowling, which was fun.
On the weekend, the class made a tour to one of the stunning sites near Brighton: The Seven Sisters. These are seven huge white cliffs next to each other alongside the coast. Behind you, fresh green grass, in front of you the wide horizon and underneath a steep slope.
The main attraction of the trip everyone was excited for was a trip to the capital city, London. Although they couldn’t see that much of such a big city in one day, they were happy to visit the central places, such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and King’s Cross Station. The cherry on top was the London Dungeon, a terrific chamber of horror and history at the same time. Everyone was exhausted after that long day, but it was definitely worth it and recommendable.
During their time they stayed with host families which gave them the opportunity to have a genuine insight into the local culture and getting to know people as well as practising their English skills.
All in all, the class truly enjoyed the amazing chance to learn about a different culture and are grateful for the experiences they could gain.
