4AHWII 2022/23
On Thursday 4 May 2023, students from class 4AHWII participated in an exciting event that involved a video conference with the Youth Parliament in Strasbourg. The event aimed to promote youth participation in politics and encourage young people to engage with decision-makers.
The video conference allowed students from different countries to ask questions to MEPs of the European Parliament, who answered those questions ‘live’. The students had prepared their questions in advance and were eager to hear the MEPs’ answers. The EU deputies answered the students‘ questions with great enthusiasm and provided them with detailed and informative answers. They explained how the EU functions and how it makes decisions. They also discussed the challenges that the EU faces and the steps it is taking to address them.
The video conference was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn more about the EU and to engage with decision-makers. It provided them with a unique insight into how the EU works and how it impacts their lives. It also encouraged them to think critically about the issues facing the EU and to consider their role in shaping its future.
Overall, the video conference was a resounding success. The students were engaged and enthusiastic, and the MEPs were informative and engaging. The event demonstrated the importance of promoting youth participation in politics and the value of engaging young people in the decision-making process. It was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn more about the EU and to engage with decision-makers, who ultimately make the decisive policies.
