OberMUN 2025: Young Minds, Global Issues

2024/25

Our trip took place from 3rd to 7th April 2025 and began with a train ride to Trieste, where we were warmly welcomed by our host families.

The opening and closing ceremonies of OberMUN 2025 were held at the University of Trieste. Each day consisted of intense debate sessions, where we simulated real life political issues that are relevant for our lives. Saturday ended with a Gala Dinner at the impressive Antico Caffé San Marco, a historic location, founded in 1914 – dress code: black tie.

Without being too pessimistic, it is a fact that our world is facing many political, environmental and economic problems right now. In various committees that were composed of 120 students from Italy, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain we worked hard to find real strategies to build a better world for the future generations.  Exchanging ideas and possible strategies to combat climate change, safeguard fundamental human rights, foster a sustainable global economy or resolve conflicts and promote peace clearly showed that diplomacy is the key.
