On the weekend of 16 to 18 April 2021, Johannes Polzer(4AHITN), Michael Mezgolits(4BHITN) and Lukas Vogl(4BHITN) had the great opportunity to participate in this event. Due to the current Covid-19 situation this event was conducted virtually.

Schedule of MUN
Each delegate represented another country. Michael represented Canada, Lukas represented Italy and Johannes represented Greece. We had to prepare thoroughly to make sure we could represent our countries as effectively as possible. The topics related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including space debris, cyber security and the protection of journalists. Since we all came from different countries, the working language was English.
The event started with an opening ceremony at which representatives from the UN were also present. Afterwards we were divided into committees, in which the various topics were discussed and the outcomes presented in the resolution papers. The committee work took place over two days, lasting for a total of 13 hours.
We were happy to have the opportunity to gain experience in a formal international setting, which will certainly be beneficial in our future professional lives. We also hope that the pandemic will end soon so that we can meet the students from our partner school in Triest in person.
