Trieste: A Journey of Culture and Friendship
On October 21, 2024, students from classes 4AHWII, 4AHITN, 3AHITN, and 3BK embarked on an exciting school trip to Trieste. The adventure began with a relaxed train journey and a warm check-in at a cozy hostel, setting the tone for a memorable trip.
The second day brought a special highlight as we visited the renowned „Oberdan“ high school. Warmly welcomed by Italian students and teachers, we indulged in local culinary delights and attended a fascinating lecture on coffee culture, exploring the historical ties between Trieste and Vienna.
Afternoons were dedicated to free time, allowing us to roam Trieste’s charming streets, discover its historic buildings, and savor the vibrant café culture.
A visit to Castello di San Giusto on Wednesday was another major highlight. This impressive fortress offered deep insights into Trieste’s history and stunning panoramic views of the city and sea. Post-museum explorations, we enjoyed more free time to taste local dishes and hunt for unique souvenirs.
Our final day, Thursday, began with packing and a farewell shopping trip for local specialties to share with our families. Reflecting on a week brimming with cultural enrichment and delightful experiences, we set off on our return journey, our hearts full and spirits high.
